Name a film, I will watch it and review it!

Okay, here's the deal. Have a favorite film? One you absolutely hate?

Let me know what it is and if I haven't already reviewed it, I will give it a watch and do so. That simple.

Despite seeing a whole lot of movies in my life, there are still plenty I have never gotten the chance to sit down and enjoy yet. Looking for the extra motivation to give some a spin that I may have otherwise never gotten to.

Oh, one disclaimer to this: I draw the line with anything like The Human Centipede. I made a vow to never watch a single moment of those films and I stand by that.

Thanks!

  2. Man, I could give you a huge list. A favorite of mine from a college film class is Tampopo. It is described as a noodle western. Also, I have mentioned The Station Agent to you in the past.

    1. Tampopo? Very interesting, not familiar with that one. It's on the list!

Also, The Station Agent is on Netflix, added to my queue, so consider that one on there as well.

  3. How about some Australian films then? I always love sharing movies from my homeland with others. I suggest Kenny (2006) a story about a cleaner, Bran Nue Dae which is a musical about Australian Indigenous people and Ten Canoes, a movie set in pre-colonial Australia.

  4. Off the top of my whimsy: "Gunless" (starring Paul Gross) and how about "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit" (ensemble cast)?

    Cheers! Great blog, sir.

    1. Wow, not only do I appreciate the suggestions but I am thrilled to have absolutely no idea what these two films are haha. I love getting completely fresh suggestions and just going into the experience blind, I have added these to the list!

Thanks, appreciate the kind words as well. Means a lot.

  5. Foreign: Let the Right One In (the Swedish version, not that american remake), The Hunt (with Madds Mikelsen)

Horror: The Wolfman (Original classic with Chaney) or now that I think about it, Creature from the Black Lagoon (my favorite monster movie period).

    Comedy: Clue (keep it classy)

Documentaries: Grizzly Man, I know that voice, Black fish

Drama: The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete (heart wrenching movie)

    Dumb fun: Ragnarok(2013)

Anyway sorry for the long list, but when someone willingly asks for movies there's just no way to hold back :P

    3. Love all the suggestions Cody! The only one I won't review again probably, while I love the film, is The Hunt. Already a review posted on here for it. Such a terrific film.

Otherwise, I literally have only seen one other film you suggested and that is Blackfish. Otherwise it will all be uncharted territory for me, and they have all been added to the list.

      Really appreciate it!

  6. Since you seem to love Miyazaki, how about The Tale of Princess Kaguya (not a Miyazaki film, but it is Studio Ghibli)? I saw it last December, and loved it! Also, do you ever watch foreign language films? And if I may make a suggestion, why not add a search button to your blog so that people can find reviews more easily? I am enjoying discovering your blog :)

    1. I love that idea of the search button Mahathi, I will see what I can do!

Love Ghibli and actually have reviewed The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. One of my ten favorite films of last year.

    2. It's actually really easy to do: just go to Layout under Design and add a Search bar as a 'gadget' :)

  7. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2385195/ Rhymes for Young Ghouls. I know it's not a new release, but just got wider release this last winter and it's distributed on Amazon now. Was incredibly moving as an indie film. Wondering what you thought.
